STOCKHOLM JAZZ ORCHESTRA

Today

Swedish big band Stockholm Jazz Orchestra, which boasts the very cream of the crop in terms of Swedish jazz elite, release their 30th anniversary celebration album, Today, meant to reflect the band's past, present and future. After twelve full-length albums, one LP, international tours and collaborations with prominent jazz stars such as Bob Mintzer, Bob Brookmeyer, Jim McNeely, The Yellowjackets, Mel Lewis and Joe Lovano, the orchestra has evolved into one of the Swedish jazz scene's most exciting groups. Nine newly written songs by above all the band's own members exemplify the band's exceptional power in terms of compositional skill, interplay and soloistic brilliance.
