Swedish folk quartet Stegvis previously issued Nära Jordens Skorpa 2015 and the full-length album Över Atlanten 2018, the last of which retold events of the Swedish emigration to America in the 18th century. Now, they shift focus to their home turf and the various locations of the city Uppsala, the long-time academic hub just north of Stockholm. Årike depicts Fyrisån, the long river running throughout Uppsala, detailing its beginning up north and ending into the Ekoln waters at the very south, and the group paints a colourful soundscape by way of Johansson's poignant lyrics.
